Design and details of Honda SP160: The SP160 is possibly the successor of the Honda Unicorn bike. The front of the bike is occupied by a large lightning set-up with full-LED lights. The side lamps had remained halogen units. The centrepiece of the SP160 is the fuel tank with aerodynamic design. Which is a 12 litres of petrol and comes with shrouds which give it that sporty looks. On the dashboard which is fully digitalized panel shows the speed of vahicle, tell tales, fuel gauge and even readouts for fuel economy etc.
The engine looks a good performer which is made up of metal. They sure look durable. The seat is a long unit which can easily take two adults. The side panels were kept simple and get perfectly blend with the overall theme. The tail light though is an all-LED unit and looks properly snazzy. The SP160 comes with alloy wheels shod with sporty-looking MRF Zapper tyres.
Honda SP160 comes with Diamond frame, suspended on telescopic front forks and monoshock rear suspension. Braking system is Powered by 276 mm petal disc at front. At rear, users will have the option to choose 220 mm disc or 130 mm drum brake. Single-channel ABS will be offered as standard.

Engine performance & variants of Honda SP160: Honda SP160 is successor of old Honda Unicorn and as a result the basic chassis remains the same. Company slightly changed the position of the rider’s footpeg to give it a sportier riding position. It not look too aggressive and overall the triangle remains comfortable and suitable for everyday rides.The Ground clearance offered is 177mm.
The engine of SP160 is powered by a 162.71cc single cylinder which generates 13.21bhp and 14.58Nm of torque which is similar to the Unicorn. Power is sent to the rear wheel using a 5-speed gearbox transmission. Honda will offer the SP160 in two variants. The first one is a dual-disc option and the second is a single-disc version. Single-channel ABS remains standard.
Honda had recently updated the engine to comply with the stricter OBD-2 emission norms. SP160 will get features such as engine stop switch, maintenance free battery and side stand engine cut off.
Colour Options in Honda Sp160 : Honda SP160 will have variety of colour options in comparison to Unicorn. These are Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic , Matte Dark Blue Metallic , Pearl Spartan Red, Pearl Igneous Black and Pearl Deep Ground Gray.
Price of Honda SP160: company has announced that the SP160 will be available at Rs 1.17 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and it will sit above the Honda Unicorn which is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Unicorn and SP160 then will co-exist. SP160 comes with 3-years standard warranty and 7-years optional extended warranty.
Difference between Unicorn and Sp160: There will be some differences in the hardware. For example, SP160 will have a smaller capacity 12-litre fuel tank. While unicorn is equipped with a 13-litre fuel tank. Another difference is that SP160 weight somewhere 141 kg, and Unicorn’s around 139 kg. Users can expect better control and handling with SP160, as it will have smaller 17-inch wheels at both ends. In comparison, Unicorn has 18-inch wheels.
